Heya!

I went to the Busted gig at Powderham Castle in Exeter last night! It was fantastic.

The venue is only about half an hour away from my house, so we left about 1.20pm, and got in there at 1.50pm. I got dropped off by my Mum and Dad, and then I went in. I didn't have to queue for long, and I went in. I got into the line just after 2pm, when the gates opened, so I was quite close to the front (as you'll see from my pictures).

Anyway, for the three hours until the show started, I sat down and read, drank, ate and listened to some music. It seemed like ages but the show finally began. I got a little closer and further to the right, so I was opposite the centre of the stage.

The first group was '5th Avenue' - I hadn't heard of them before but they were Irish and were pretty good. They got a pretty good reaction from the crowd.

Then was 'Tommi' - they were also ok...not as good as the group before - they had good dance moves but didn't get a big reaction.

Then it was 'The Undecided' - Matt's brother Darren's band - they were really good! They got the crowed all hyped up and moshing, haha.

Then after that came 'V' and they were also good, there were a lot of girls screaming for them and their songs were good.

Of course 'McFly' were on next, and they were great. It started raining when they came on, which didn't seem to bother them, and opened with 'Saturday Night' like they did on the Busted tour. I'm glad to hear they're releasing 'That Girl' next - I love that song.

Then was a half hour wait for Busted. By this time my feet were already throbbing from 3 hours standing, but I couldn't sit down because there were so many people stood around us, trying to get closer.

Anyway, the Roadie guys started setting up the stage for Busted, and the crowd started to get all hyper. Suddenly Charlie just rushed on stage and everyone went insane. They did 'Air Hostess' first, of course, and then did the cute banter with the crowd thing. " Wow there are a lot of you..."/" How does Exeter sound?...."/" Are you having a good time?..." And then performed 'That Thing You Do'.

At that time, my digital camera gave up on me and so I had to spend most of the song on my knee's searching through my bag for new batteries, which I had, thank God, and lasted til the end of the show.

Anyway, the show was great, it was pretty much like the tour, except with 'Thunderbirds Are Go', less pyrotechnics, less songs (no solo ones) but just the same amount of energy really. They performed 'What I Go To School For', 'Britney', 'Nerdy', 'Year 3000', 'Fake', 'She Wants to Be Me', '3am' (it was nice to hear them un-edited!)...I can't remember many more, except 'Who's David', obviously. The build up to that was funny because they did their normal " Does anyone here know anyone called David?"/"Watch out for him..." routine, and then they noticed the sign in the crowd some guy had made saying " I'm David" and then started telling us to "Stay away from that guy..." ....oh it was funny.

The time went so quickly, it was amazing. I got some good pictures, despite all the kids on their parents shoulders in front of me. I enjoyed it so much.

As usual, to finish, they performed 'Crashed the Wedding', but before they did that James yelled out " You guys are the sh*t!"...which surprised me, but was really funny. Then they did CTW and it was so good, everyone was making so much noise (I was making noise with my very special Concert Whistle). They all jumped into that hole at the back of the stage (James, Matt then Charlie last) and then it was done.

I packed up my bag and then went to get something from the merchandise stand, while trying to direct my sister to where she had to pick me up. I gave up trying to get something from the merchandise stand at first, because the queue was so claustrophobic. I went back later, and bought some Busted patches to sew onto my bag with the money my Dad had given me.

Then I rushed off and met my sister, who took a while to get in but we were out quite quickly thanks to Sam, her boyfriend.

Then we drove home and I came online to upload the pictures from the Digi Cam and to chat about the gig with my mate, Sal.

After that, I went to sleep, or tried to. It took ages because my feet were still throbbing and my ears were ringing. But I did, and it was a v.satisfying sleep.

Now, one last thing I want to say.

Happy Birthday Dad!

later.

Phillie.

I'll post my pictures in another entry.
