Goodbye 2006
Dec. 31st, 2006 08:43 pmTime for the annual goodbye 200-whatever letter. I really don't have much to say about this year... Yeah, there has been one huge change in me (very hastily) going to University and living way from my family for the first time ever, but apart from that...nothing much has changed for me personally, in terms of having a lot of friends/a boyfriend/a social life. I'm able to cope with living alone, a bit more open to meeting and making friends with new people, I'm a bit more confident...but I'm still shy, introspective and slow socially...but hopefully the New Year, my birthday and taking on another class at Uni will build my confidence further when I return there.
I've actually become bored at home, sitting around doing nothing. I'm going to start practicing French in these remaining three weeks, and doing more work with my driving CD-Rom, because I'm really rusty in my lessons. I had a really scary moment when Andrew (my instructor) had to brake for me when emerging from a junction because I didn't see the other car coming...eek...I hate even thinking about it. It happened yesterday and I was so shaken up and on the verge of tears immediately afterwards, I felt so stupid. Luckily the rest of the lesson went alright, after he had given me a talk about roundabouts. Haha.
I'm going to spend the rest of New Years Eve sat at home watching movies, and ringing midnight in my room alone, as usual, unless a miracle occurs. Maybe next year will be different...but isn't that I always say? Actually, in the vein of things I always say/do...I'm going to make some (realistic) resolutions...
1. Try and eat at least one fruit or vegetable a day.
2. Walk more.
3. Put studying first.
4. Make at least one (real) friend.
5. Try to phone home only four times a week while at Uni.
6. Take more photos.
7. Get out more.
8. Get hair cut professionally.
9. Keep listening to music, but not every hour of the day.
I think that's it. Those should be quite easy to fulfill.
Happy New Year!
T-Minus 4 hours, 27 minutes until 2007.
