I'll be entering my second year with my LJ soon....awww. I usually reflect on what I've done this year and what I need to do next year in my diary at this point, and count down how many hours are left of the year.
24 x 364 = 8736
9 hours of this day gone. 8745 hours gone, 3 to go. Wow. I love this time of year, being able to calculate that. Doesn't seem like much like that. I feel like recounting my highlights of my year, so here goes...
- January: Not much here. Mock GCSE's. Argh. Birthday of course, turned 16, got my guitar, not much else.
- February: Not much again. School, reading, essays, sitting in the back of History with Will and Dan, not doing much. (Them, not me...)
- March: Busted Concert on the 20th! So fun, first time I saw them live. Great experience. Luckily the DVD was filmed on that night so I can relive it exactly (but much closer)....Sky+! On the 13th of March. One of the best things that has ever happened to me. Haha. :oP
- April: Discovering McFly I think. I bought the first single but was a bit wary of them because they were Busted's 'protegees' (sp?) and I wasn't sure what to think of them. Ended up liking them of course.
- May: May.....hmm....the beginning of the GCSE freak out zone. A lot of revising, and a lot of procrastinating, hence the start of my LJ, to vent. Got a lot of grief cos I stayed on even within 'exam leave' even tho' it wasn't official.
- June: GCSE's. Then the start of the long summer - an extra month on everyone else. Wahey! Twas great to finally let go after being wound up for so long!
- July: More freeeedom. A lot of hanging around at home, on here, or watching TV. Just basically doing nothing, and it was greeeeeeat! Powderham Gig. A lot of sitting around, then standing up. Was fun, I was much closer that time. Very fun, but tiring.
- August - Practically all in France. From the 8th to the 28th. Had fun, took the dog, visited the French house, went down to the South, ate great food, went to Paris (<333333333) etc etc......Then results. Very scared I was...but some turned out better than I expected!
- September - Start of Sixth form. Not many friends in classes. Getting used to stuff. Sorting out timetables. It seemed to go on forever.
- October - Much cooler. Settled in, made a couple of new friends, got on with work (*cough*)....etc etc. McFly gig on the 5th with KT...very fun. Nice to be in such a small venue seeing them - compared to Manchester. Sang my heart out on 'Not Alone' but I couldn't even hear myself!
- November - Starting to get tired. Lots of essays.
- December - Trip to London. Totally legendary. Most of this month I was very very tired and trying to cram a lot of stuff in. Christmas was cool. And now here I am. And I'm still tired.
Looking forward to next year. I'm slightly disheartened by the phrase from the OC "how you spend New Years will be how you'll spend the rest of that year" or something along those lines. Sat in front of a computer, tho' fun at times, is not how I want to spend my 2005. I want to go out and actually do stuff. Maybe it'll just be walking my Dog into town every Saturday, or asking one of my old mates to go and see a movie with me.......I need to do things.
My birthday on the 4th. Kinda looking forward to it. But also not. Because I'm not having a party...for the third year running. And that just makes me feel very disappointed and friendless. Anyway, like I said, 2005 is going to be about doing stuff.
I'm not going to write specific resolutions, 'cause I'll never keep them. I'm just going to say to myself : "Do better."
Later, and Happy New Year! if you're reading this.
